1. April23.

It is Monday Morning right now…and I thought I’d share a little about the weekend before it is completely behind me.

On Friday, I booked out of here to meet my best friend that lives super close to me now! I left a few minutes early, and somehow managed to get to her house an hour late. I got lost. 2 times. But, I bought a bottle of margaritas on the way, so I figured all would be well.

She had prepared stuffed peppers for dinner, so I was pumped. I’ve always wanted to try those! And they were amazing. I love red peppers. And some delicious chips and guac and salsa from trader joe’s! She bought a variety pack of 6 delicious  new beers, so we had those for the rest of the night. We just sat talking… and ya know? that is what I miss the most about her.

She had to work on Saturday, so I slept in and hung around her apartment doing homework. She doesn’t have internet, so that was a PLUS. Because I had no reason to be distracted!!! I got two of the most important projects almost done and did some artwork in my journal. I felt so good being in her apartment alone and being productive. She also let me eat whatever I wanted, and she had fresh fruit and some new soy latte drink in her refrigerator. I had those for breakfast, again, so good. I did manage to get a workout in too. I ran outside for 30 minutes and did some other stuff in her apartment. She has a weighted hula hoop that was fun to try. I had to have looked like an idiot though. But great ab workout! Holy moly.

She got home and we got to making plans for the night. she wanted to paint on her walls, so we designed. We decided on a bunch of circles in purple, blue, and green. We made a trip to sherwin-williams and got the supplies. Back to her apartment for painting!! We traced the circles with anything we could find in there… pot lids, candles, bowls, cups, yogurt containers, etc. She cooked salmon with this delicious marinade and some sweet potatoes that took about an hour and a half to cook in the oven (which we never got to enjoy). DELIcious. The circle design went well..and 5 hours later, I was done being a perfectionist.

Sunday morning we slept in again and had eggs and sausage. She is becoming quite the cook! It was nice to have good food at home and not have to go out. When she visits me, I’ll have to act like I’m a cook too! ha.

The entire weekend was just awesome. It was the perfect mixture of talking/catching up, relaxing, sleeping in, and spending time by myself to get things done too. I wish I could do that every weekend. It will be so good to have her so close though… good for both of us. I came back refreshed for a demanding week at school… and that is more than I could have asked for!
